Wandering and only slightly lost…

The things that happen when you are just sitting around having a couple of cold ones. I’m not sure I could ever successfully make a complete chronicle of all the things discussed, done, and just plain theorized while having a few cocktails with good friends.

Here I was doing just that, having a few drinks with some friends and just enjoying a nice afternoon with absolutely nothing on the agenda for the remainder of the day. Then my buddy said, “Remember when I told you my house is built over old mine shafts?” Well you guessed it. Nice and loose from strong concoctions we created for ourselves, we ventured out into the unknown to look for one of the many mine entrances that were on the old town map from over fifty years ago. Yes, he had map! At this point I am realized that this ambush was delicately planned and executed.

I didn’t mind at all. I’m a good sport and always up for some adventure and fun. So, with our “road sodas” in hand and several pockets, we pushed on. After walking through several fields, brush, and over many little hills, we found an area that appeared to be what we were looking for. Due to the area being cut with raging water and extremely deep ravines, we couldn’t make our way to a “suspected” entrance to one of these abandoned mines. The time was just not available due to the dwindling daylight left. If we make another trek in the future, I will update and with more photos. But for now, I will leave you with this.

Just where was I?

I mean really? What are you doing when you stumble into a place like this?Test oneThis is just some of the little treasures I find while out exploring some of my many passions. I expected this to be some kind of rough biker bar or worse before I walked in. It was just an average place with average people and more than a few of those came with badges in their pockets. What might look like a dangerous spot to stop and get a beer turns out to be probably the safest spot in town. Little things like this remind me to take a chance and do some exploring. If I had just kept driving on than old dusty road, I would’ve missed this.

Behold…and the curtain slowly opens…

Greetings all!!

The plan is to use this space for some personal development as well as expression. I would like to move it into a gallery of sorts one day. Today is here and there is no time like the present to move along. Some posts may seem random while others will seem deeply informed. This will have much to do with which current hobby I may be obsessing over this week or even my personal mood. Sounds a lot like most people we know? I never felt like I fell into some category labeled as “most people” either. Sometimes that paradox alone has kept me up at night. This first post is going to be short and sweet. This is more than enough time and space here to level it with everything that is all wrapped up in me. Thank you for reading!!
